Partner with the best
As a Technical Support Engineer, Coiled Tubing, you will provide engineering expertise and technical support for the planning, design, and execution of coiled tubing and associated pressure pumping operations. You will work closely with customers, field personnel, operations teams, maintenance personnel, and third-party service providers to develop technically sound job programs and support flawless operational execution. You will be responsible for delivering engineering analysis, operational modelling, equipment application support, risk assessments, execution monitoring, and post-job technical evaluations across a broad range of coiled tubing intervention services.
As the Technical Support Engineer, Coiled Tubing, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing customer objectives, well data, completion schematics, operating conditions, and equipment limitations to develop technically robust intervention solutions.
- Designing and supporting coiled tubing programs for cleanout, milling, nitrogen lifting, chemical treatment, cement placement, stimulation, isolation, and abandonment operations.
- Performing coiled tubing force, fatigue, buckling, lock-up, hydraulic, solids transport, and operational reach modelling using approved engineering software.
- Selecting and specifying coiled tubing strings, bottom-hole assemblies (BHAs), downhole tools, fluids, pumping parameters, and contingency equipment.
- Developing operating envelopes and technical limits for pressure, depth, speed, fatigue utilization, pump rates, differential pressure, and equipment loading.
- Preparing job procedures, engineering calculations, BHA schematics, pressure-control stack-up drawings, equipment layouts, pumping schedules, and contingency plans.
- Verifying compatibility between coiled tubing units, injectors, reels, power packs, pressure-control equipment, pumping systems, treating iron, downhole tools, and customer well configurations.
- Supporting equipment readiness through reviews of maintenance status, certifications, inspection records, pressure-testing requirements, and inventory availability.
- Participating in equipment audits, function testing, yard testing, system integration testing, and pre-job readiness reviews.
- Leading and participating in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Management of Change (MOC) reviews, technical reviews, risk assessments, and pre-job meetings.
- Providing real-time technical support during field operations, monitoring critical operating parameters, troubleshooting technical challenges, and recommending corrective actions within approved operating limits.
- Maintaining coiled tubing fatigue-management records and pipe-management systems to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
- Supporting investigation and closure of incidents, equipment failures, operational deviations, and non-conformance events.
- Leading or supporting pre-job and post-job reviews while ensuring technical documentation packages are complete, accurate, and properly archived.
- Preparing daily engineering updates, technical reports, post-job analyses, lessons learned documentation, and end-of-job summaries.
- Maintaining complete engineering records, operational data, calculations, job histories, and equipment documentation.
- Supporting feasibility studies, technical proposals, equipment selection processes, tender submissions, and cost-estimate development.
- Serving as a technical focal point between customers, Baker Hughes operations teams, maintenance personnel, suppliers, certification authorities, and third-party providers.
- Coaching field engineers and operational personnel on engineering software, equipment applications, operating limits, and best practices.
- Identifying opportunities to improve service quality, operational performance, engineering processes, equipment utilization, and customer outcomes.
