Connecting Odds

Everything a professional network should be.

Built around your career, not engagement metrics. Below is the short list, followed by a deeper walkthrough of every surface in the product.

Profile, your career home base

Your Connecting Odds profile is built to do one job well: tell people who you are, what you do, and how to reach you. Real name, headline, location, skills, experience, education, and a clean public URL at /in/your-slug that you can share anywhere. Every field has its own visibility control, so you can publish a fully public page or a quiet internal one without leaving the product.

  • Personal slug at connectingodds.com/in/your-name
  • Per-field visibility (public, connections-only, private)
  • Open-to-work and open-to-hire signals you can toggle quietly
  • Resume upload reused on every job application
  • Profile views with daily and weekly trends

Network, mutual connections, follow when you want

Connections on Connecting Odds are mutual by default, the same person ends up in both contact books, with two-way messaging unlocked. Follows are one-way, so you can keep up with companies, hiring pages, or thought-leaders you don't personally know without inflating your connection graph. The combination keeps your real network high-signal and your information diet wide.

  • Mutual connections with accept / decline
  • Asymmetric follows for companies and public figures
  • People you may know, scoped to your real second-degree network
  • Direct connection requests carry a personal note
  • Block and mute controls on every profile

Feed, strictly chronological, never ranked

We don't have a ranking algorithm. Your home feed shows posts from people and companies you follow in reverse chronological order, full stop. No 'recommended for you', no 'promoted', no resurfaced posts from three days ago. It's the same idea as an email inbox, newest at the top, scroll until you're caught up, close the tab.

  • Reverse-chronological by default
  • Hashtag pages and topic filtering
  • Rich text, images, links, mentions
  • Reactions and threaded comments, no quote-dunking economy
  • Drafts and scheduled posts for company pages

Jobs, apply in one click, track everywhere

The jobs board is built around two things: making it easy for candidates to apply with the resume already on their profile, and giving recruiters a real applicant tracking surface instead of a black hole. Every application has a status the candidate can see, and every recruiter response moves the candidate through a real pipeline.

  • One-click apply using your saved resume
  • Visible application status (applied → reviewed → interview → offer)
  • Save jobs for later, filter by location and remote
  • Country and city landing pages crawlable by search engines
  • Recruiter dashboard with bulk actions and candidate notes

Messaging, real-time, connection-gated, no paywall

Messaging on Connecting Odds is unlimited between connected members. We don't sell credits to message people. We don't show a 'send InMail' upsell in the way of a real reply. If you're connected, you can talk; if you're not, you send a connection request first. Read receipts and presence sync across every device you're signed into.

  • Unlimited 1:1 conversations with connections
  • Real-time delivery, typing, and presence
  • Read receipts that sync across devices and notifications
  • Connection requests carry a personal intro message
  • Native attachments for images, files, and links

Company pages, one URL for the whole organization

Every organization gets a real page at /company/your-slug. Branding, description, team, followers, jobs, and updates all live on the same canonical URL, the one you want crawlers, candidates, and customers to land on. Authorized recruiters and admins can post jobs and updates; everyone else sees the company exactly as it presents itself.

  • Branded company page with logo, banner, and tagline
  • Verified ownership via work-email confirmation
  • Followers, jobs, and updates all on one page
  • Multiple recruiter seats with per-seat permissions
  • Public, indexable URL that ranks for your brand name

Recruiter, sourcing without the InMail tax

The recruiter workspace is built for teams that hire continuously. Search profiles by skills, location, and experience; reach out with a connection request and a personal note; track everyone you've talked to in one pipeline; and post jobs to your company page without paying per-message fees on top of your seat.

  • Full-text candidate search with filters
  • Saved searches and shareable shortlists
  • Outreach in the same inbox candidates use
  • Applicant tracking per job opening
  • Flat per-seat pricing, see the pricing page

Everything Connecting Odds does, in depth

A complete reference to the product. Each section below explains one capability, why it exists, and how it compares to the paid tool it replaces.

One-tap voice calls with anyone in your network

Connecting Odds treats a voice call as a first-class product surface, not an afterthought bolted onto messaging. From any conversation, you can start a WebRTC voice call with a single tap, and the person on the other side can accept or decline without installing another app or copying a dial-in link. There are no separate accounts to reconcile, no meeting IDs to memorise, and no per-minute charges added to your account. If the two of you are already connected on Connecting Odds, you can already call each other, on desktop or mobile web.

Under the hood, calls use peer-to-peer WebRTC with TURN fallback for restrictive networks, so latency stays low even across continents. Audio is Opus-encoded at 48 kHz which keeps voices natural and reduces the fatigue that comes from a full day of tinny compressed audio. Signalling uses our real-time channel so the ring, the accept, and the disconnect all happen in under 150 ms on a healthy connection.

Recruiters, hiring managers and candidates all report the same thing: the first honest ten-minute call replaces two written back-and-forths and cuts a hiring cycle by days. Because voice is native, you spend less time coordinating tools and more time talking to humans.

  • Free 1:1 voice calls with any accepted connection
  • Opus 48 kHz audio, WebRTC + TURN fallback
  • Ring, accept, decline entirely inside the chat window
  • No dial-in numbers, no PINs, no downloads
  • Works on modern desktop and mobile browsers

HD video interviews without a Zoom subscription

Video calls on Connecting Odds are built for the exact moments recruiting requires: a first-round screen, a portfolio review, a panel round with two interviewers, or an onboarding introduction. You can escalate a voice call to video with one tap, invite a second attendee, screen-share a portfolio or take-home exercise, and end without paying anyone a per-user monthly fee.

The video pipeline runs H.264/VP9 with adaptive bitrate, so the picture stays smooth on 4G tethering and crystalline on wired fiber. Bandwidth is negotiated in real time between peers, and simulcast layers let each participant see the best resolution their device and connection can handle.

Because the call happens inside the same product where the resume, the job description and the message history already live, interviewers save on context switching. There is no 'let me open my ATS in another tab' between questions. Notes typed during the call attach to the candidate record automatically.

  • HD video, screen share, up to 8 attendees per call
  • Adaptive bitrate, simulcast, VP9 preferred
  • In-call chat and note-taking that persist to the candidate record
  • One-click escalation from voice to video
  • Zero cost. No 40-minute cap. No branded splash screen

Meeting scheduling that replaces Calendly and Doodle

Every Connecting Odds account gets a public booking URL, at connectingodds.com/in/your-slug/book, that visitors can use to schedule a call with you. Set the days and hours you accept meetings, add a buffer between slots, cap how many can happen per day, and Connecting Odds handles the rest: it de-duplicates against your existing calendar, prevents double-bookings across timezones, sends reminder emails 24 hours and 30 minutes ahead, and drops a joinable meeting link into the confirmation.

Round-robin routing distributes team demos evenly across a hiring pod. Collective slots find the intersection of two or three interviewers so panel scheduling stops being a Slack thread. Every event carries the source (job listing, cold outreach, referral link) so you can measure which channel is actually producing conversations, not just clicks.

There is no separate Calendly bill and no extra login for your candidates. The person booking sees your availability, picks a slot, and receives an ICS attachment plus a link that opens the Connecting Odds voice or video call room directly.

  • Public booking URL per user, no separate scheduling app
  • Round-robin, collective and event-type routing
  • Google Calendar and Outlook sync (two-way)
  • Automatic reminders, cancellations and reschedules
  • Attribution back to the job, company or campaign

Two-sided matching, not one-way spraying

Job boards optimise for the recruiter's search. Connecting Odds optimises for a mutual signal. When a recruiter marks a role as 'open to candidates like this' and a candidate marks themselves as 'open to roles like that', both sides receive a highlighted match with the reasons spelled out: overlapping industry, matching seniority, compatible location or remote preference, salary in range, and required skills present.

Because the signal is mutual, response rates on the first message are dramatically higher than cold LinkedIn InMail. Candidates who ignore recruiter outreach 90% of the time reply to a Connecting Odds match invitation because the recruiter is not guessing. The recruiter has already been shown the candidate's real, current, self-reported openness.

For candidates, the same engine finds jobs the recruiter has explicitly earmarked, not job listings that were posted six months ago and never updated. Match quality beats match volume every time.

  • Mutual opt-in from both recruiter and candidate
  • Match reasons shown transparently, not scored in a black box
  • Seniority, industry, location, remote preference, salary and skill overlap
  • Freshness bias: recent openness beats stale listings
  • No paid placement inside match results, ever

Resume tools that are actually free

Every account can upload one master resume, plus up to five role-tailored variants. Connecting Odds runs them through a lightweight parser that extracts your work history, education, skills, certifications and languages, and pre-fills your profile so the same information does not need to be typed twice.

When you apply to a role, the resume attaches automatically. When a recruiter opens your profile, they see a preview and, if you allow it, can download the PDF. If you swap a resume version, every future application uses the new one; existing applications keep the version you originally sent so the recruiter's record stays consistent.

There is a resume builder for people who don't yet have one - clean, ATS-friendly, single-column, printable at A4 or US Letter - and an anonymised export that strips your name, photo and contact details for outreach to companies where you want to stay unidentified until they signal interest.

  • One master + five variants per account
  • PDF, DOCX, RTF and plain-text parsing
  • Auto-fill profile fields from parsed content
  • ATS-friendly single-column templates
  • Anonymised export for stealth searching

Recruiter workspace with pipelines, notes and shared candidates

Recruiters at hiring companies see a workspace tuned for their job, not a variant of the consumer feed. Pipelines are Kanban columns, one per job, that drag candidates from Sourced to Contacted to Screened to Offer to Hired. Every column keeps a count and a median-days-in-stage metric so bottlenecks are impossible to miss.

Shared notes let two recruiters and a hiring manager comment on the same candidate without emailing each other snippets. Mentions with @ notify the right teammate. When a candidate replies in chat, the pipeline advances automatically to Contacted and the timestamp is written to the audit trail.

Company members can be granted specific roles: Recruiter (can move candidates), Hiring Manager (can comment and interview), Admin (can post jobs and manage members), Owner (billing and deletion). Everything a competitor stack does across four tools happens in one workspace and one login.

  • Job-scoped Kanban pipelines with stage timers
  • Shared candidate notes, mentions and reactions
  • Role-based permissions per company member
  • Audit trail on every stage change and message
  • One login, one workspace, zero extra bills

Company pages that tell your story and post your jobs

A Connecting Odds company page is a rich profile: name, logo, banner, description, size, headquarters, hiring roles, culture tags, industry, org type, plus the live list of open roles you have posted and the members of your team who are on Connecting Odds. It has its own URL at connectingodds.com/company/your-slug that you can share on a business card, in an email signature or on your own website.

Candidates who follow a company page get notified when new jobs open, when the team publishes an update, and when someone they know joins. Follows are one-way, so candidates can keep an eye on a shortlist without spamming request buttons.

Every job posted from a company page inherits the branding, so applications feel consistent from first click to final offer. Companies can post unlimited roles at no cost - there is no per-listing fee and no premium slot to buy.

  • Custom URL at /company/your-slug
  • Logo, banner, culture tags, headquarters, size, industry
  • Unlimited job postings at zero cost
  • Team members surfaced with per-person consent
  • Follower notifications for new jobs and updates

Messaging that is real time, threaded and connection-gated

Connecting Odds messaging is a full real-time layer, not a polling loop. New messages arrive in under 200 ms in typical conditions, typing indicators are shown to both sides, and read receipts are opt-in per conversation. You can react to a message with an emoji, edit within five minutes of sending, or delete for both sides.

Messaging is connection-gated: only accepted connections can start a chat with you by default. If you are open to cold outreach, flip the setting on your profile and recruiters can message you subject to a daily cap that keeps a rush of automated messages from ever landing in your inbox.

Group conversations up to 50 participants let hiring pods, alumni cohorts and study groups keep threaded discussions in one place without bouncing to Slack or WhatsApp.

  • Real-time DMs with reactions, edits and deletes
  • Group conversations up to 50 members
  • Connection-gated by default, opt-in for cold outreach
  • Full-text search across your message history
  • End-to-end TLS in transit, encrypted at rest

Chronological feed and topical groups, no engagement games

Your feed shows posts from people and companies you follow, in reverse chronological order. There is no 'suggested' interstitial, no 'promoted' post, no algorithm boosting outrage. If a post has 40 replies but you don't follow the author, you don't see it unless a friend re-shares it.

Groups let you gather around a shared interest, a company alumni network, a bootcamp cohort, or a city meetup. Group posts stay inside the group by default; you can promote them to your main feed with one click if the topic deserves a wider audience.

The result is an information diet that respects your time. Ten minutes of scrolling produces a real update from the network you actually built, not a firehose of strangers optimised for click-through.

  • Reverse-chronological feed only
  • No paid promotions, no algorithmic reranking
  • Groups with topical tags and joinable communities
  • Hashtag pages for cross-network discovery
  • Mute and hide controls per author and per tag

Notifications you can actually configure

Every notification type - new connection request, message received, job match, company update, group activity - has its own toggle for in-app, email, and push. Digest emails bundle low-priority activity into one daily or weekly summary so your inbox never gets flooded.

A single 'do-not-disturb' switch pauses everything for a stated duration, or on a recurring schedule (weekends off, working hours only). Recruiter outreach counts as its own channel so you can pause it independently from personal messages while a search is on hold.

Under the hood, notifications ride the same real-time layer as chat, so the mobile web PWA and desktop tabs stay in sync without draining battery.

  • Per-channel toggles: in-app, email, push
  • Digest emails, daily or weekly
  • Scheduled do-not-disturb windows
  • Separate recruiter-outreach channel
  • Sync across every open tab in real time

Privacy controls that go field by field

Every profile field - headline, current company, location, education, phone, resume - has its own visibility control: public, connections only, private, or hidden from search. Recruiters can be granted narrower access than the general public if you want to be findable in a search without exposing your phone number.

Data export is a two-click operation from settings. You get a machine-readable archive of your profile, messages, applications and activity. Account deletion is equally straightforward and irreversible after a 30-day grace window during which you can restore.

Consent for every non-essential cookie, every non-transactional email, and every third-party integration is opt-in per user and recorded in an audit log that you can inspect from the privacy dashboard.

  • Per-field visibility controls
  • Recruiter-specific access grants
  • One-click data export in machine-readable format
  • Account deletion with 30-day grace
  • Consent audit log per user

Mobile that works without an app-store download

Connecting Odds ships as a progressive web app. On iOS and Android, add the site to your home screen and you get a full-screen icon that launches into a native-feeling experience, complete with push notifications, offline caching for previously viewed profiles, and a shared login with your desktop.

No app-store review cycles slow down bug fixes. When we ship a change, every user sees it on the next tab reload. The install footprint on your phone is measured in kilobytes because we don't ship a duplicate copy of the runtime.

  • Installable PWA on iOS and Android
  • Push notifications on both platforms
  • Offline cache for previously viewed content
  • Shared session across desktop and mobile
  • Instant updates without app-store review

Search you can trust to find people, jobs and companies

Full-text search runs across people, jobs, companies, groups and posts. Filter by location, remote preference, seniority, industry, skill, salary band, or company size. Save any search and get a daily email when new matches appear.

For recruiters, boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT, quoted phrases) work exactly the way they do in a traditional ATS. For candidates, natural-language queries like 'senior backend engineer Berlin remote' resolve into structured filters automatically.

Because there is no paid placement in search results, the top result is the best match, not the biggest budget.

  • Unified search across five entity types
  • Boolean and natural-language queries
  • Saved searches with email alerts
  • Filter by location, remote, seniority, salary, skill
  • No paid placement in the results list

Integrations that keep your existing stack in the loop

Two-way calendar sync with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Webhooks fire on every application received, every match, every message, so your data warehouse or downstream ATS stays current. A read-only public API exposes your company page, job listings and match statistics for embedding in your careers site.

SAML SSO is available on the team plan for organisations that require it. SCIM 2.0 provisioning is on the roadmap for early 2027 and will keep member lists in lockstep with your identity provider.

  • Google Calendar and Outlook two-way sync
  • Webhooks on applications, matches and messages
  • Public read-only API for careers-site embedding
  • SAML SSO on the team plan
  • SCIM 2.0 provisioning on the roadmap

Security and compliance you can defend to your CISO

Data in transit uses TLS 1.3. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. Backups are taken continuously and retained for 30 days on encrypted cold storage. Row-level security in the database means one user's rows are literally invisible to another user's session even in the event of a query bug.

We are GDPR compliant, CCPA-ready, and publish a Data Processing Addendum on request. Sub-processors are listed publicly and updated whenever they change. Vulnerability disclosure is handled through security@connectingodds.com with acknowledged response within one business day.

Passwords are Argon2id-hashed, MFA is available for every user, and session revocation is one click from settings for every active device.

  • TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest
  • Row-level security enforced in the database
  • GDPR / CCPA compliant, DPA on request
  • Argon2id password hashing, MFA for every user
  • Coordinated disclosure at security@connectingodds.com

How the feature set replaces four separate subscriptions

The average recruiter spends $1,200 to $2,000 per month on tools just to have a conversation with a candidate: roughly $800 for LinkedIn Recruiter, $150 for Zoom or Teams, $16 for a scheduling tool like Calendly, and $200 for an ATS with messaging. That is $12,000 to $24,000 per recruiter per year, before the cost of any advertising credits or premium job placements.

Connecting Odds provides the underlying capability for each line item - sourcing, voice and video, scheduling, and pipeline management with messaging - in one product for free. There is no per-user seat cost, no per-listing charge, no messaging tier, and no minimum contract. Companies can post unlimited jobs, message unlimited candidates and hold unlimited calls at zero cost.

The economic promise is straightforward: replace four bills with none, and stop pretending that a decade-old contract lock-in is the same thing as a moat.

  • LinkedIn Recruiter ~$800/mo → replaced by matching + messaging
  • Zoom / Teams ~$150/mo → replaced by native voice + video
  • Calendly ~$16/mo → replaced by native scheduling
  • ATS with messaging ~$200/mo → replaced by recruiter workspace
  • Total ~$1,200+/mo saved per recruiter, per month

What is next on the feature roadmap

The 2026 second-half roadmap focuses on three areas. First, richer async video answers on job applications so candidates can record a 60-second introduction alongside the resume upload. Second, live-caption transcription and post-call summary for every voice and video meeting, at no extra cost, using speech-to-text through the Lovable AI Gateway. Third, native support for referral programs so employees at hiring companies can submit and track candidates directly from the feed.

Everything on the roadmap ships to every user regardless of plan. Gated 'premium tier' features are not part of the product philosophy.

End-to-end workflows the product is designed around

A single recruiter opens a new role in the morning. They post the job from the company page in under two minutes, tag it with role, industry and location, and it appears immediately on the /jobs board and inside the matching engine. Within an hour, matched candidates start appearing in the pipeline's Sourced column with match reasons visible per row. The recruiter opens a candidate, sends a personalised message, and the conversation begins in real time. When the candidate replies, the row advances to Contacted automatically.

By afternoon, the recruiter sends a scheduling link to five candidates. Two book a slot inside the hour. Both bookings appear on the recruiter's synced Google Calendar and inside the Connecting Odds meetings tab. Reminders fire the next morning; the interviews happen inside the video room without either party leaving the product; notes typed during the interview attach to the candidate record. If a candidate is a strong fit, one drag advances them to Offer stage and notifies the hiring manager, who was already looped in via shared notes.

For a candidate on the other side, the equivalent day is: mark yourself open to work, upload one resume, browse the matched roles that appear in your inbox with the reasons spelled out, one-click apply to the three that fit, book a call with the recruiter who matches back, take the interview inside the product, and never install a second app.

Roles and permissions inside a hiring company

Company workspaces support four built-in roles with escalating privileges. Members can view the workspace and shared candidate pipelines. Recruiters can post jobs, move candidates through pipeline stages, and message candidates on behalf of the company. Hiring Managers can comment on candidates, join interviews and read the pipeline but cannot post or delete jobs. Admins can invite and remove team members, manage integrations and edit the company page. The Owner controls billing (which for Connecting Odds means nothing, but the role exists for future paid add-ons like SSO) and account deletion.

Every action a team member takes on a candidate is written to an audit log with the actor, the timestamp and the change. If a stage moves or a message sends, the audit trail knows who did it. This satisfies most hiring-team compliance requirements out of the box.

  • Four built-in roles: Member, Recruiter, Hiring Manager, Admin, plus Owner
  • Per-action audit log with actor and timestamp
  • Optional two-person approval on candidate rejection
  • Delegated inbox: team responds under one shared identity
  • Fine-grained per-job visibility (private, shared, public)

Global support: languages, currencies, timezones

The interface is available in twelve languages today (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Hindi, Turkish, Indonesian and Japanese) and expands as translation coverage lands. Every page renders correctly right-to-left for Arabic and Hebrew once those translations complete.

Salaries are displayed in the currency you set on your profile, converted from the posting currency at the current exchange rate. Meeting times are shown in the viewer's local timezone with the poster's timezone tagged for context. Dates use the ISO 8601 format everywhere so a 3-January posting is never mistaken for a 1-March posting.

Country and state fields are mandatory during sign-up so the matching engine can respect location preferences from day one, and existing users are prompted once to fill them if they were created before the requirement was added.

  • Twelve UI languages with expanding coverage
  • RTL support for Arabic and Hebrew rendering
  • Local currency display with live conversion
  • Timezone-aware meeting scheduling
  • Country + state required on sign-up
