About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team, focusing on building and maintaining robust backend services that power critical applications. In this role, you will design and implement scalable server-side solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications through well-structured RESTful APIs. You will work extensively with both NoSQL and SQL databases, including MongoDB and MSSQL, applying best practices in schema design, performance tuning, and indexing to ensure data systems run efficiently and reliably. A key part of your day-to-day work will involve optimizing application performance, enforcing security best practices, and using tools like Postman to test and debug APIs thoroughly. Collaboration is central to this role, as you will partner closely with DevOps teams to streamline deployment and operational processes. Exposure to cloud services, particularly AWS, will allow you to contribute to infrastructure decisions and support the broader goal of building performant, secure, and well-monitored applications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend applications.
  • Work with MongoDB, MSSQL, and other NoSQL/SQL databases, including schema design and indexing.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure adherence to security best practices.
  • Test and debug APIs using Postman.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment and operational workflows.
  • Apply performance engineering practices, including application monitoring and optimization.
  • Utilize AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, and ECS where applicable.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC
  • Proficiency in REST API development
  • Experience with Node JS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with Postman and GIT
  • Proficient in using IDEs such as Eclipse
  • Experience with MongoDB and MSSQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and indexing strategies
  • Familiarity with performance engineering, application monitoring, and optimization

Other Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, ECS)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices
