About the Role

Under the supervision of the Manager, Engineering, the Software Development Engineer will serve as a core member of the engineering team to define the vision, architecture, and roadmap for software platform services that support the company's core products and future growth. Telecommuting is available up to 3 days per week within the Seattle Metropolitan area, based on manager approval.

You Will

  • Build scalable and maintainable applications, platforms, and backend services to power the disbursement of funds and the flow of data across multiple product lines, internal systems, and external disbursement partners, using technologies such as Golang, Java, and AWS.
  • Implement software systems that promote efficient engineering practices, consistency, and standardization across platform services.
  • Assess, test, and validate software and network systems, automation tools, and platform components to ensure alignment with internal security, reliability, performance, and compliance standards, collaborating with Infrastructure and Security teams as needed.
  • Implement, accelerate, and reengineer the delivery of developer tools, automation capabilities, and software delivery practices in partnership with Product Engineering, Information Technology, and other internal teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with partnering product engineering teams and product managers across Remitly.

You Have

  • Position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, and 2 years of experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • 1 year of experience with conducting code reviews and contributing to system architecture and design;
  • 1 year of experience with designing distributed systems that support scalable software solutions in a financial services environment;
  • 1 year of experience with developing AWS cloud computing capabilities utilizing EC2, SQS, SNS, S3,

DynamoDB, and Cloudwatch;

  • 1 year of experience with performing full-stack development, product development, and web application development;
  • 1 year of experience with leveraging AI-assisted development tools for code generation, debugging, document summarization, and workflow automation to improve engineering productivity and software quality;
  • 1 year of experience with mentoring junior engineers on best practices in software design and implementation; and
  • 1 year of experience with utilizing CSS, Docker, GitLab, gRPC, HTML, IntelliJ, Java, JavaScript, Jenkins, Node.js, NoSQL, PL/SQL, Python, ReactJS, SQL, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Terraform, and TypeScript.

Compensation Details.

The starting base salary range for this position is typically $143,104.00 - $155,000.00 per year. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
