IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is located in the Command Section, Communications unit, Mission Support Group of an Air National Guard Flying Wing. DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = Officer (O3 and below) and Enlisted members of the Louisiana National Guard.

THIS IS AN "OBLIGATED" POSITION DUE TO FORMER INCUMBENT ACCEPTING A TITLE 32 USC ACTIVE GUARD/RESERVE TOUR. SHOULD RESTORATION RIGHTS BE EXERCISED, PRESENT INCUMBENT WILL BE SEPARATED AS A MILITARY TECHNICIAN. THE INCUMBENT WILL BE ENTITLED TO ALL LEAVE AND INSURANCE COVERAGE AS A PERMANENT EMPLOYEE AND COVERAGE IN THE FEDERAL EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT SYSTEM (FERS)/FEDERAL EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT SYSTEM-REVISED ANNUITY EMPLOYEES (FERS-RAE)/FEDERAL EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM - FURTHER REVISED ANNUITY EMPLOYEES - FERS (FRAE) RT. IF FORMER INCUMBENT DOES NOT EXERCISE RESTORATION RIGHTS AFTER FIVE (5) YEARS FROM THE TOUR BEGINNING EFFECTIVE DATE, POSITION WILL BECOME PERMANENT. 1) National Guard Membership is required. 2) Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. 3) Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. 4) May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: OFFICER (O3 -BELOW) & ENLISTED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.
