What You'll Do
Set the growth strategy and own the number.
Build the funnel system.
Run acquisition end to end.
Manage lifecycle programs.
Set the measurement foundation.
Route the audience to the right product.
Must have
- 10+ years in growth or demand generation at B2B SaaS or developer-focused companies with a budget and a pipeline or revenue target you were held to.
- You've set growth strategy for a company, not just a channel: picked the motions, sequenced the investment, defended the plan to an Executive, and reported honestly on what came back, including the parts that didn't work.
- You're still hands-on. You've been the person in the tool recently, and you will be again here. You can build a campaign, a lifecycle sequence and a funnel model yourself, and you expect to for the first several months.
- You've built attribution and funnel reporting from close to nothing: campaign taxonomy, UTM structure, and a funnel model leadership used to make decisions. HubSpot and Salesforce, or close equivalents.
- Lifecycle ownership with measured results. Onboarding and activation programs where you can tell us the before-and-after conversion numbers, and what you learned when one of them failed.
- You've hired and managed growth marketers and contractors, and you know when a contractor beats a hire.
- Comfort being the only person in your function to start. You'll pick the sequence, say no to good ideas, and ship without a team behind you until the results earn one.
Nice to have
- Background at an open-source or developer-tools company. You know why a GitHub star isn't a lead, and you've dealt with the particular weirdness of marketing to engineers.
- SQL, and comfort living in a BI tool. Our stack is HubSpot, Salesforce, Amplitude, Common Room, and Omni.
- Experience running a product-led self-serve funnel alongside an enterprise sales-led motion without one cannibalizing the other.
- You've taken a product from early traction to a repeatable growth engine, and can describe what you changed at each stage.
- You've worked closely with Product and Engineering on in-product growth (onboarding flows, activation triggers, in-app prompts) and can show how it moved the numbers.
