Company Overview
Empower is a high-growth software company on a mission to transform the gig economy by providing hard-working rideshare drivers with software and support services that enable them to run their own businesses and work for themselves in competition with, instead of for, rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft.
Uber and Lyft make their money by charging riders as much as possible for rides and paying drivers as little as possible for providing them. This system is terrible for both drivers and riders. Fortunately, there's a better way! The empowered way!
Using Empower's software, drivers set their own rates and get 100% of riders' fares. As a result, drivers are able to charge riders less than Uber and Lyft and still make a lot more money than they would make driving for those companies. Empower's software also enables riders to request a favorite or same gender driver so that they feel safe. It's that simple: With Empower everyone wins!
