We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and our leading advertising and travel media network. Make an Impact This is an early-career opportunity for someone who is curious about data and motivated to build a strong foundation in analytics. You will receive guidance from your manager and collaborate with analytics teammates while developing your ability to solve well-defined business questions and communicate findings to audiences with different levels of technical knowledge.
In this role, you will:
- Extract, structure and combine data from multiple sources to support analysis and model development.
- Apply descriptive statistics, probability and basic statistical methods to investigate business questions, with guidance from your manager and senior teammates.
- Build clear charts, dashboards and reports that follow sound visualization principles and communicate insights rather than data alone.
- Perform data quality checks, document analytical code and participate in peer reviews to help ensure reliable results.
- Collaborate transparently with stakeholders and analytics teammates to gather information, learn the business domain and unblock data questions.
Experience and Qualifications
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, economics, or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- You have demonstrated experience using data in a previous role, academic project or personal project to create dashboards, reports or a data science product that provides useful insights.
- You have beginner-level experience using SQL, Python, R or a similar language for data analysis, including filtering, joining, transforming and summarizing data.
- You understand the fundamentals of descriptive statistics, probability, regression and measurement, and can apply them to business questions with support.
- You can communicate analytical approaches and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical partners, using concise written and verbal storytelling.
- You are curious, collaborative and open to feedback, and you are willing to learn visualization tools such as Tableau and new data sources as needed.
