This is a Washington Army National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Unit Technician position: AIRCRAFT MECHANIC Location: Army Aviation Support Facility 1 Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington 98433 Army National Guard Units Appointment Type: Permanent, excepted service Advertised as: ENLISTED May be used to fill one or more vacancies. *Ensure you read this announcement in its entirety, complete all application requirements, and your USA Jobs profile name is accurate* MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military Grades: E4-E7 Desired Military Assignments: 15T - Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the MOS to apply or be considered for selection. Selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible Military position and attain MOS within 1 year of appointment action. - Must be qualified to clears Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others. ***You must provide supporting documentation in your application proving that you meet this requirement. Proof must clearly reflect your name. -- Must have three years experience and/or appropriate training in such functions astrouble shooting, repairing, maintaining, servicing, inspecting, and modifying aircraft, aircraft installed equipment and related ground support equipment. - Must have experience and/or appropriate training that would demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and components in electrical, fuel, hydraulic, environmental and mechanical principles. Insures proper work sequence planning and review, and a thorough understanding of technical orders, maintenance regulations and management operating procedures.-- The incumbent must possess or be eligible for award of the appropriate security clearance for this position. - The incumbent may be required for NGB Non-Aviator Flying Status and qualified for ClassIII flying duties. - Must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - Must maintain membership in the WA Army National Guard for continued employment. - Must be able to obtain, within one year, and maintain the appropriate SECRET security clearance of the position. - Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. - The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment.
