AI Product Manager - Aladdin Portfolio Management, Vice President
Your Team
The Aladdin Product Management team operates at the intersection of investment management and technology. We partner with developers, researchers, investment professionals, and other stakeholders to design and deliver capabilities across the investment lifecycle. Within the Portfolio Management segment, the team is transforming how investment professionals make decisions, manage risk, and operate portfolios through artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and scalable technology.
Your Role and Impact:
As a Product Manager, you will help shape the future of portfolio management technology within Aladdin. You will work directly with portfolio managers and investment professionals to understand how investment decisions are made and executed, identify opportunities to reduce manual work, and develop intelligent workflows that enable investment teams to operate more effectively at scale.
The ambition is not simply to automate existing processes. You will help reimagine how portfolio managers interact with technology, make decisions, and manage portfolios, moving from repetitive activities toward scalable, exception-driven workflows. You will own product initiatives from opportunity identification and strategy through experimentation, delivery, adoption, and measurable impact.
This role requires the ability to connect investment workflows, product strategy, technology, and AI. You will apply product judgment to distinguish meaningful opportunities from technology-driven hype and translate promising ideas into practical, scalable product capabilities.
Your Responsibilities:
In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:
- Set the product strategy and own the end-to-end lifecycle for AI- and automation-enabled portfolio management capabilities, from opportunity identification and experimentation through delivery, adoption, and measurable business impact.
- Develop a deep understanding of portfolio manager personas and investment workflows, partnering directly with investment professionals to identify unmet needs and redesign processes for greater scale and efficiency.
- Translate user and business needs into clear product requirements, user experiences, and success measures, working with engineering teams to evaluate trade-offs and deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Develop reusable capabilities and automation patterns that can be applied across investment strategies, portfolio management workflows, and Aladdin clients.
- Measure adoption, operating efficiency, user experience, and business impact, using data and client feedback to prioritize continuous product improvement.
- Build alignment across Aladdin Product, Engineering, and investment teams by communicating product strategy, roadmaps, dependencies, delivery milestones, and business outcomes to stakeholders and senior management.
- Evaluate developments in AI, automation, and investment management, translating relevant advances into differentiated product opportunities.
Your Experience:
- Five or more years of relevant experience in product management, business analysis, consulting, client service, technology, investment management, portfolio management, or a related field, with exposure to developing or delivering software products and improving investment workflows.
- Demonstrated interest in AI and automation, with the curiosity and initiative to evaluate emerging technologies, experiment thoughtfully, and identify practical applications in investment and portfolio management.
- Understanding of investment management workflows, such as portfolio construction, investment decision-making, rebalancing, and monitoring, with experience translating user needs and process inefficiencies into scalable technology solutions.
- Strong product judgment and analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize opportunities, assess where technology can create meaningful value, and use data to evaluate product outcomes.
- Technical fluency across modern software architectures, application programming interfaces (APIs), automation frameworks, and emerging AI technologies, with an understanding of product development lifecycles and agile delivery methods.
- Experience partnering with users or clients and collaborating across product, engineering, investment, and business teams to shape, launch, and continuously improve solutions, build alignment, and drive decisions without direct authority.
- Strong commercial acumen, organization, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and explain investment and technology concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
