Supervisory Park Ranger (Protection) - Deputy Chief Ranger

You will serve as a Supervisory Park Ranger (Protection) - Deputy Chief Ranger at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. his position serves as the Deputy Chief Ranger for Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve and New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park, which includes six units located in southern Louisiana, as well as provides law enforcement support to a third National Park Service site, Cane River Creole National Historical Park. Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 2 nights per quarter. You must maintain physical fitness standards throughout employment. You are required to wear a uniform and comply with uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You are required to complete training, obtain and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority. A financial disclosure report will be required within 30 days of appointment. Firearm qualification and certification are required for the role, and ongoing proficiency must be maintained. You must at least 21 years old. You must be free of any domestic violence convictions.
