Reports To
Director, Product Management
What You Will Be Doing
We are seeking a Staff Product Manager, Residential Charging & Home Energy Management to lead our home and residential AC charging hardware within the Home & Driver vertical. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Home & Driver, you will own the product line roadmap, business case, and launch execution for multiple front-running ChargePoint AC products. You will operate as the single point of accountability that aligns hardware and firmware engineering, cloud and app teams, operations, and go-to-market to deliver products drivers and partners love.
- Own the product line roadmap and strategy for home and residential AC hardware, setting direction and making pricing, demand, and build-quantity decisions
- Lead products from development through early access to launch as the product owner for go/no-go decisions, including factory readiness, ship criteria, and certification (e.g., UL 3141, Energy Star, Eichrecht requirements, etc.)
- Define the home energy strategy - including load management, panel-upgrade avoidance, V2H/V2G, and smart-home standards - and decide when to build, buy, or partner
- Own product relationships with strategic partners including intelligent power management companies, utilities, and automotive OEMs, and represent the product in utility pilot and managed-charging programs
- Drive field quality after launch with Quality, CX, and Engineering, turning installer and driver feedback into prioritized fixes and roadmap decisions
- Coordinate cross-vertical dependencies with Commercial, Fleet, and DC Charging, prioritizing shared engineering capacity against the AC charging backlog
- Define and execute go-to-market strategies with Residential Sales, Channel, and Product Marketing around positioning, packaging, launch, and sales enablement
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate product definition, analysis, and delivery
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
This role spans hardware, firmware, and the home energy ecosystem. You will move our home charging line from a charger on the wall to a connected part of the home energy system - spanning load management, panels, breakers, utility programs, and next-generation energy management capabilities - while driving the partnerships that expand our residential market.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of hardware product management or product line management experience, including ownership of the business case and lifecycle for a connected electrical or energy product line.
- Experience taking integrated hardware, firmware, and software products from concept to volume production.
- Proven track record in residential EV charging, solar, storage, inverters, smart panels, load management, or adjacent home energy sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive pricing, cost, certification, and launch execution in a matrixed environment.
- Experience with the standards behind home energy integration, including UL 3141, UL 9741, IEEE 2030.5, OCPP, ISO 15118, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vehicle-to-home or bidirectional power, microgrid interconnection devices, backup power, or utility programs such as demand response and virtual power plants.
- Experience with smart-home ecosystems or standards and launching products in both North America and Europe.
Location
Remote - North America
