Senior Producer

In this role, you'll:

• Produce video from ideation through scripting, shooting, post-production, publishing, and promotion.

• Shape ideas into pitches, treatments, scripts, shot lists, run-of-show documents, and other production materials.

• Partner with editorial and video leaders to develop creative concepts and deliver engaging, accurate video aligned with Axios ' voice and standards.

• Lead or support field, studio, and remote-based productions.

• Work effectively with journalists, executives, guests, and other on-camera talent.

• Coordinate work across internal teams, freelancers, contractors, vendors, and production partners.

• Create video optimized for YouTube and other digital platforms, including packaging, audience retention, and distribution.

• Use platform trends and performance insights to inform creative decisions and help grow Axios ' video audience.

• Manage multiple projects, deadlines, production schedules, and review processes in a fast-moving environment.

You have:

• 5-7+ years of relevant video production, journalism, digital media, broadcast, documentary, branded-content, or comparable editorial experience; additional experience may be considered at the Senior Producer level.

• Demonstrated experience producing, shooting, and editing professional video content, supported by a strong portfolio or reel.

• Strong editorial judgment, visual storytelling skills, and the ability to turn ideas into compelling finished video.

• Experience producing for YouTube and an understanding of audience development, search/discovery, retention, and platform-native storytelling.

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

• Experience working with on-camera talent, alongside strong writing, communication, and project-management skills.

• A collaborative, entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented approach and comfort working across distributed teams and changing priorities.

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $90,000 - $140,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios ' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
