Senior Java AWS Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Java/AWS Engineer to join a small, autonomous engineering team working on large-scale, distributed systems. Job Details

• Job Type: Contract basis (1 year)
• Joining: Immediate joiners only
• Work Permit: Valid work permit in Sweden is mandatory
• Opportunity: Long-term contract opportunity

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend expertise
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services
• Deep knowledge of Java and JVM, including: JVM memory management, Garbage Collection (GC), Concurrency, Performance tuning, Virtual threads
• Strong experience building and scaling customer-facing web services
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and distributed data architectures
• Experience with Cassandra, Redis, Memcached, or similar technologies
• Experience building REST services using Netty or similar frameworks
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and software delivery
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment

Nice to Have

• Cryptography/security knowledge: PKCS, KMIP, X.509, AES, KDF, CA
• Exposure to ML systems/frameworks
• Experience with GitHub, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker
• Experience with privacy-sensitive or security-critical systems
