Amgen is expanding its global Data Science capabilities, with Amgen India (AIN) playing a key role in integrated delivery and functional leadership. As a Senior Data Science Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of data pipelines, machine learning solutions, and analytic applications that support critical business and scientific decisions. This role combines technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions, enhance user adoption, and advance engineering best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with data scientists to analyze and select appropriate data models and algorithms that focus on improving clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas leveraging diverse data
• Participate in external professional organizations, conferences and/or meetings.
Accountabilities:
• Contribute to the implementation of internally developed and externally provided analytic solutions
- Participate in the development of innovative and effective approaches to solve client's analytics problems and communicate results & methodologies
• Recommend ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms that generate analytic insights
This position is currently located at Amgen India (Hyderabad).

Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or similar field
- 8 to 13 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or Data Scientist
- Experience developing production quality advance analytic solutions
- An understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture
Preferred Skills :
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or similar field
• A proven ability to write robust code in R / Python
- A working understanding of common machine learning algorithms and approaches (NNs, RF classifiers, Ensemble methods, NLP etc.) and when to use them.
• Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment.
- A working knowledge of one or more relevant industry data standards (e.g., CDISC SDTM, CDISC ADaM, HL7 BRIDG, OMOP)
