We're REA
Where the team fits in
Realcommercial.com.au (RCA) is REA Group's commercial property marketplace and Australia's leading destination for commercial property. The platform brings together commercial buyers, tenants, owners and agents: helping people discover, compare, and make confident property decisions while enabling customers to promote listings and generate valuable enquiries. What the role is all about
As a Product Designer, you'll work across the RCA Consumer and Mobile squads, designing connected experiences across web and native apps. You'll partner closely with product, engineering, research, data and commercial stakeholders to solve meaningful consumer problems and deliver outcomes that balance consumer needs, customer value and business goals.
- Contribute to design from discovery through delivery, turning consumer problems into clear, useful and compelling product experiences in alignment with overall company vision
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers and other specialists to shape and execute product strategy, define opportunities and make pragmatic decisions within technical constraints
- Design and evolve consumer journeys across realcommercial.com.au and RCA's native mobile applications, considering responsive web, iOS and Android patterns together
- Conduct comprehensive research and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to understand customer needs, test assumptions, evaluate product performance and guide prioritisation
- Apply best practices in design to create flows, prototypes, interaction models and high-fidelity designs that communicate the experience clearly and support efficient delivery
- Plan, prioritise, and manage design activities with a lean mindset, helping teams apply design thinking throughout the product development process
- Monitor competitor, technology, design and real estate trends to identify opportunities and support impactful decisions
Who we’re looking for
- At least three years' experience as a product designer using industry-standard tools and best practices, ideally in a marketplace, platform, or other complex digital product environment
- A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design: framing problems, exploring options, testing ideas and delivering polished experiences
- A curious, empathetic and evidence-led approach to understanding opportunities and developing pragmatic, testable solutions
- Strong interaction and visual design craft, with the ability to communicate decisions and trade-offs clearly
- Experience designing for responsive web and native mobile products; familiarity with iOS and Android conventions is highly desirable
- The ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment, while balancing user needs, technical constraints and business goals
- A willingness to learn, share your perspective and contribute to a healthy, inclusive and collaborative design culture
