Platform Engineer
About the role
Frost Unmanned develops unmanned systems for defence customers. We are looking for a Platform Engineer to take responsibility for integration and reliability of our unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The role You own how the UAV platform works as a whole: communication, sensor and electrical systems working together as one complete aircraft. The work is hands-on, split between the workshop, the lab and the field. You will:
- Design, install and integrate communication, sensor and electrical systems on the aircraft
- Configure radio links, sensors, networks and flight control systems
- Develop embedded software
- Plan and carry out cabling and electrical installation
- Troubleshoot hardware and system-level faults
- Test and validate integrated systems, including flight trials
What we are looking for
- MSc or BSc in electrical engineering or a related field
- Experience with system integration of electronics, communications or sensors, ideally on UAVs
- Embedded software development skills
- Comfortable working hands-on with hardware in the field
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
- Able to pass security vetting, as the role involves defence projects
