Life at Intel
Intel is looking for highly motivated individuals with strong technical background and capabilities to sustain, ramp, and transfer all technology nodes in Arizona. They will drive rapid continuous improvements in safety, quality, yield, reliability, cost, process stability/capability, and productivity while maintaining rigorous quality control.
Intel Foundry is increasing its investment in defect metrology technology, implementing a new Win It Inline initiative using advanced real-time monitoring to improve yield learning cycles. Investing in inline metrology will give engineers more data throughout the manufacturing process, as opposed to waiting for end of the line data - a fundamental shift in how we leverage data to build chips. Role Overview: As a Defect Metrology Equipment Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing and maintaining metrology systems for manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with equipment development, operations, automation, and manufacturing teams to enhance yield systems and ensure product integrity.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Perform statistical analysis and develop visualizations to construct accurate process development roadmaps.
- Develop methods and systems to analyze diverse big data sources, leading to yield modeling and process roadmap definition.
- Develop and maintain systems that enable faster interpretation of fab process, defect, and electrical data to drive process changes for yield enhancement.
- Transform experimental and manufacturing data into yield improvement actions.
- Ensure manufacturability over process and product design through thorough analysis.
- Execute new product introductions and participate in design of experiments.
- Develop tools and algorithms for high-volume data analysis to identify yield limiters.
- Harden equipment systems to meet operational needs for leading-edge logic nodes.
- Develop AI/ML applications to improve patterning solutions and design efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and implement custom algorithms.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ months experience with Yield and Defect Metrology equipment (e.g. KLA, AMAT, ASML HMI, TEL, Keysight, Advantest, and Hitachi).
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Statistics/Data Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field of study AND 2+ years relevant experience OR
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Statistics/Data Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field of study AND 1+ years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Advanced degree and 2+ years of applications experience with defect metrology tools.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor fabrication and processing techniques (Lithography, Etch, CMP, Thin Films, Plating, etc.), Statistical Process Control and Design of experiments (DOE) principles, Statistical Data Analysis. (Examples include: JMP/JSL, Python, SQL) and/or Programing Experience in JMP/JSL, Python, R and SQL.
- Experience in Laser Optics, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Digital Signal Processing, and Image Processing.
- Experience in technical documentation, training, and project management.
- 3+ years of New Technology startup experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Process/Yield Engineering.
- Demonstrate strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience in metrology.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer orientation.
- Demonstrate the ability to work across organizational boundaries including process engineering, integration and yield.
