Job Summary
: As a FSQA Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
- Documenting and calculating results accurately.
- Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
- Handling additional assignments as requested.
Working Conditions
• Environment
: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
• Physical Requirements
: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
• Safety Equipment
: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses (where required), hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
• Restrictions
: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.
Requirements
:
Education
: High school diploma or GED.
Experience
: Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
Communication Skills
: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills
:
- Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
- Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
- Math and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
- Must function well under stress.
- Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
Physical Requirements :
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
- Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to work in wet environment
- Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
- Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
- Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
