Working closely with the Campus Life Coordinator, you'll help deliver engaging programs, events and initiatives that foster connection, belonging and a positive community culture across our residences.
From supporting student leaders and coordinating activities to promoting wellbeing and helping students navigate university life, you'll contribute to creating an environment where students feel supported, connected and empowered to succeed.
We're looking for an energetic, approachable and empathetic individual who thrives in a student-focused environment and is passionate about building vibrant communities.
As this role is centred on supporting students where they live, a strong on-campus presence is essential. The position operates on a fortnightly rotating roster:
- Week 1: Tuesday to Saturday, 8.00am to 4.00pm
- Week 2: Monday to Friday, 11.00am to 7.00pm
The role also requires evening, weekend and out-of-hours work to support residential programs, events and student needs.
If you're motivated by creating positive student experiences, building community and helping students thrive, this is your opportunity to make a genuine impact every day.
As a Campus Life Officer, you will
- Support student wellbeing and uphold community standards, helping to create a safe, inclusive and respectful living environment.
- Design and deliver engaging events, programs and campaigns that foster connection, belonging and an exceptional residential student experience.
- Support the recruitment, training and development of Residential Leaders, empowering students to make a positive impact within their community.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to Residential Leaders, contributing to the delivery of successful programs and positive community outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with students, university stakeholders and community partners to enhance engagement and strengthen the residential experience.
To be successful, you’ll have
- A degree and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Experience coordinating and delivering programs, events or initiatives that foster engagement, participation and positive community outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience providing guidance, support and mentoring to student leaders, volunteers or peer-based teams.
- A genuine passion for student wellbeing, community building and creating inclusive environments where students can thrive.
This position is designated a flexible ordinary hours span position due to operational needs. A 20% flexible loading applies to every hour worked outside the University Ordinary Hours of Work.
