About the role
DANGEROUS GOODS LEAD
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve DG policies, procedures, and controls for air, ocean, and ground transportation
- Serve as the subject matter expert on IATA, 49 CFR, IMDG, and related U.S. and international DG regulations
- Conduct internal audits of processes and documentation to ensure full regulatory compliance
- Drive scalable solutions and metric-based continuous improvement that reduce risk and support business growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, industry associations, and key partners
- Partner with senior leadership across organizations to align policy, risk posture, and operational controls
- Support new business opportunities and transportation models with clear regulatory guidance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing air, ground, and ocean dangerous goods shipments
- 3+ years of experience with U.S. and international DG regulations and import/export compliance
- Current valid certifications: DOT, IATA, and IMDG
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong experience with lithium battery transportation and classification
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth logistics or aerospace environment
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20–25%
- This position is based in Bastrop, TX or Redmond/Woodinville, WA, or Hawthorne, CA and requires regular onsite presence
