About the role

AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research. We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits - not speculative staffing banks. AlphaGov is engaging an Airport Planning & Environmental Consultant for current municipal work. A general aviation airport needs airport planning and/or environmental consulting for its Airport Capital Improvement Plan. We confirm scope, schedule, and fee with you before any engagement begins.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and update Airport Capital Improvement Plans and airport layout plan inputs
  • Support FAA/state AIP grant planning and justification
  • Lead NEPA environmental documentation for airport projects
  • Coordinate with FAA ADO and state aviation offices
  • Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when you authorize naming

Required

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in airport planning or airport environmental work
  • Working knowledge of FAA AIP, ACIP, ALP, and NEPA (FAA Order 1050.1F)
  • Comfortable as a 1099 project-based consultant

Nice to have

  • General aviation airport experience in the Southeast

- GIS skills
