The opportunity

Join EY Technology Consulting Serbia and become part of a growing team of more than 85 professionals, including Software Engineers, QA specialists, UX/UI designers, DevOps engineers and Project Managers.  As a Junior Quality Engineer, you will join Agile delivery teams and contribute to the quality of software solutions across web, mobile, and API-based applications. We are looking for candidates who already have practical experience in software testing and would like to further develop their expertise in modern Quality Engineering practices, test automation, and AI-assisted testing. Please note that this position is not intended for internship candidates or applicants seeking their first exposure to software testing.

Your key responsibilities

• Participate in testing activities across web, mobile, and API-based applications.

• Design and execute test cases based on business and functional requirements.

• Document, track, and verify defects throughout their lifecycle.

• Support regression, integration, user acceptance, and release validation testing.

• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Contribute to test automation initiatives and continuously expand your knowledge of modern Quality Engineering practices.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of automated test suites.

• Use AI-powered tools to improve test design, documentation, and productivity.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality engineering processes and best practices.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or final-year student).
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in software testing through commercial projects, professional engagements, or relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and SDLC/STLC concepts.
  • Experience creating and executing test cases and reporting defects.
  • Familiarity with web, mobile, or API testing.
  • Eagerness to learn automation, AI tools, and modern engineering practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good written and spoken English.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

• Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.

• Basic programming knowledge in Java, JavaScript, or another programming language.

• Understanding of REST APIs and API testing concepts.

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar platforms.

• Interest in AI-assisted software development and testing.
