Physician (Deputy Associate Chief of Staff of Medicine Service)

The Medicine Service at the Salisbury VA Healthcare system (SVAHCS), Salisbury NC is seeking a dynamic Physician Leader with Internal Medicine (or subspecialty) training to function as the Deputy Chief of Medicine. The service is one of the largest programs among Complexity 1b VHA facilities offering specialty care at three separate locations and employs over 100 specialists. The service has robust clinical, teaching and research activities with strong affiliation with Wake Forest University. U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
