Job Responsibilities
- Support the definition and execution of the product roadmap for the
ODS Platform
, contributing to the accurate, reliable, and timely delivery of customer-facing data to channels including App, Statements, CRM, and Open Banking.
- Take ownership of specific product areas or features end-to-end, ensuring delivery meets stakeholder acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Write clear, well-structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can build from, working closely with the Tech Lead and engineers to validate feasibility.
- Build and maintain a prioritised product backlog, incorporating inputs from stakeholders, data, and evidence to ensure the team is focused on the highest-value work.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support stakeholder communication across Product, Technology, Operations, and channel teams (App, CRM, Open Banking, Statements), helping ensure shared understanding of goals and delivery progress.
- Help identify, track, and report on key product metrics aligned to ODS priorities (
speed, resiliency, availability
) including data accuracy, latency, SLA adherence, and defect rates, and use data to propose improvements.
- Be hands-on, curious, and outcome-focused - willing to dig into detail, test product behaviour, and collaborate closely with engineers and QA teams.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture that values learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Some proven experience as a product manager or associate product manager in a software development environment, ideally using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to write clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can act on.
- Familiarity with backlog management and prioritisation techniques, and experience maintaining an organised backlog.
- Good understanding of software delivery concepts including
APIs (GraphQL/REST)
, integrations, and data flows.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about
ODS platform capabilities
Kafka-based data ingestion
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience working on data, integration, or platform products, even in adjacent industries.
- Familiarity with
event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka)
and data ingestion patterns.
- Understanding of
GraphQL and REST API design
for customer-facing data services.
- Experience with
transactions, payments, or rewards data domains
.
- Understanding of data quality, reconciliation, or data governance principles.
- Familiarity with
non-functional requirements
such as latency, availability, and resiliency for high-volume services.
- Exposure to AI-assisted or automation-led product features and commercial awareness and an ability to understand how product decisions impact business outcomes.
