Delivery Leader - F&A - R2R 2

Role Overview: The Delivery Leader – Record to Report is responsible for overseeing the entire R2R cycle, including general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This leadership role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial results, while driving transformation, standardization, and automation across global operations.

🔑 Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

Define and drive the global R2R strategy aligned with corporate finance goals and regulatory requirements.

Lead transformation initiatives focused on process standardization, automation, and global scalability.

Establish and track KPIs for the R2R function (e.g., close cycle time, reconciliation backlog, reporting accuracy).

1. End-to-End Process Ownership

General Ledger Accounting: Oversee day-to-day GL entries, journal processing, accruals, and adjustments.

Month-End/Year-End Close: Lead the financial close process ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.

Fixed Assets Accounting: Manage asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and audits.

Intercompany Accounting: Ensure timely and accurate intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Monitor and ensure the timely completion and accuracy of reconciliations.

1. Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP), internal policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).

Collaborate with audit, tax, treasury, and legal teams during internal and external audits.

Maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.

1. Financial Reporting

Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.

Ensure accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness of all reports submitted to corporate or regulatory bodies.

1. Technology & Automation

Partner with IT to optimize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools (e.g., Black Line, One Stream, Power BI).

Lead initiatives around automation, RPA, and analytics to improve cycle time and data accuracy.

1. Global Team Management

Lead, mentor, and grow a global R2R team including regional leads, accountants, and reporting analysts.

Foster a performance-driven culture with strong attention to detail and compliance.

Manage talent acquisition, development, retention, and succession planning.

1. Stakeholder Collaboration

Serve as a strategic partner to FP&A, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, and Business Unit finance teams.

Provide financial insights to support business decisions, forecasts, and budgeting.

1. Performance Management & Reporting

Develop and track operational metrics like:

Close cycle duration (e.g., # of days to close)

% of reconciliations completed on time

of journal entries processed per FTE

Quality score of financial reports

Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
