Supervisory Firefighter

In this position you will work as a member of the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC), Emergency Services Division, Fire Services Branch. Key Requirements: You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. Selective Service registration required. Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements. You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card. You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time. (Please do not upload a photo ID. The license will be verified at time of tentative job offer.) Report for duty during inclement weather, natural disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Fire Chief and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, e.g., mandatory overtime, subject to recall to duty. Wear a uniform and safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures. Wear various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include respirators, masks, self-contained breathing apparatus, and armored vests, and equipment. Successfully complete an annual Job Performance Test. Participate in a cardiovascular physical fitness program. Perform temporary duty travel for the purpose of obtaining specialized training and other fire and emergency services duties.
