Our client, a growing alternative-financing company, is seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships & Origination to expand its professional referral network and generate lower-middle-market financing opportunities, typically ranging from
$1M–$25M
. The role offers a competitive base salary and performance-based bonuses, with potential total annual compensation of approximately $400,000–$600,000 for strong performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial finance, private credit, commercial banking, M&A/advisory, investment banking, ABL, factoring, SBA lending, equipment finance, or a related field, along with established relationships with banks, CPAs, attorneys, investment bankers, M&A advisors, financial advisors, private equity firms, and other referral sources. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with banks, CPAs, attorneys, M&A advisors, investment bankers, PE firms, and other professional referral sources.
- Generate qualified
$1M–$25M lower-middle-market financing opportunities
through an established network
- Build new referral channels capable of producing consistent, repeat deal flow.
- Present the company's alternative-financing solutions to referral partners and prospective borrowers.
- Manage opportunities from initial introduction and qualification through closing.
- Work closely with credit, underwriting, and leadership teams to develop appropriate financing solutions.
- Attend industry events and networking opportunities to expand the company's referral network.
Requirements
- Proven business development, origination, or relationship-management experience within commercial finance or an adjacent financial-services field.
- Background in private credit, commercial banking, M&A/advisory, investment banking, ABL, factoring, SBA lending, equipment finance, or a related area.
- Established network of banks, CPAs, attorneys, investment bankers, M&A advisors, financial advisors, PE firms, or other professional referral partners.
- Demonstrated success generating
repeat business through professional referral relationships
.
- Experience with lower-middle-market transactions, ideally
$1M–$25M
.
- Strong understanding of commercial financing and lower-middle-market businesses.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable independently developing and managing a book of business.
