Japan Clinical Operations Asset Lead (Oncology)

Position Summary You will lead clinical operations for one or more oncology assets in Japan. You will create and deliver the Japan operational plan that supports global goals. You will work closely with global clinical teams, medical, regulatory, biostatistics, and external partners. We value clear decision-making, practical problem solving, and patient-centred quality. Responsibilities This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

• Develop and deliver the Japan clinical operations plan for assigned oncology asset(s), aligned with global strategy.
• Serve as the primary Japan contact for global clinical operations and coordinate local cross-functional partners.
• Decide and manage resourcing for Japan, including vendor selection, contracting input, and vendor oversight.
• Maintain and drive asset-level risk registers, including practical mitigation and timely escalation.
• Monitor delivery quality, timelines and budget; lead corrective actions to protect patient safety and data integrity.
• Support operational contributions to governance and development plans, and translate global plans into local execution.

Why You? Working arrangement: This role is based in Japan and is hybrid. You will spend regular time in a GSK office and work remotely as agreed with your manager. We support flexible working discussions.

Basic Qualification We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, nursing or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in clinical operations or clinical study management in pharmaceutical or CRO settings.
• Proven track record managing clinical development projects or asset-level activities.
• Practical knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable regulatory requirements in Japan.
• Experience working in matrix teams with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent Japanese and business-level English communication skills.

Preferred Qualification If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• Advanced degree (Master, PharmD, PhD, MD) in a relevant discipline.
• Prior experience in oncology clinical operations or related therapeutic areas.
• Demonstrated experience managing outsourced delivery and CRO partnerships.
• Experience across multiple clinical phases from early to late phase.
• Solid financial planning experience, including budgeting and forecasting clinical costs.
• Familiarity with modern clinical trial approaches and digital tools.
