About the Role
FutureJobs.ai is looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to contribute to the development and evaluation of next-generation AI systems.
In this role, you will use your software engineering expertise to create realistic and challenging coding tasks for AI systems, implement features and bug fixes, and develop deterministic verifiers that can identify valid solutions and reject incorrect implementations.
Prior AI experience is not required. Strong software engineering expertise and domain knowledge are the primary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create realistic and challenging coding tasks for AI systems.
- Implement feature enhancements and bug fixes.
- Develop deterministic verifiers to validate coding solutions.
- Debug complex software issues and identify root causes.
- Refactor existing codebases for maintainability and scalability.
- Optimize application and system performance.
- Build and work with scalable backend services and APIs.
- Review code and evaluate technical implementations.
- Apply strong software engineering and problem-solving practices.

Strong hands-on experience with:
- Backend development

Preferred / Plus
A Cybersecurity or SecOps background is a strong plus, including experience with:
- Secure coding
- Application Security (AppSec)
- Penetration testing
- Vulnerability assessment
- OWASP / CWE
- Security-focused code reviews

- Proven experience in backend/software development.
- Track record of delivering high-quality and performant software projects.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
- Experience working with large or complex codebases.
- Experience implementing complex features and refactoring existing applications.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and foundational computer science concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical communication and code-review skills.

Compensation is output-based, with experts paid per task that meets the applicable project specifications. The time required to complete individual tasks may vary depending on the expert's experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements may apply.
Selected experts are expected to be ready to begin their first tasks within 24–48 hours after completing onboarding.
