About this role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Accountability Specialist on the Heightened Customer Risk team within Financial Crimes Operations. The specialist will be responsible for helping lead the team assessing customer risk related to high-risk attributes such as political exposed persons, Non-Us Government exposures.

In this role, you will

• Lead complex initiatives with broad impact which are designed to mitigate current and emerging business risk issues and concerns; act as key participant in large-scale, cross-functional planning for the business • Assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business's functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; influence and lead key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid to senior-level managers to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies • Act as liaison for the business with external parties to support timeliness, appropriate response strategy, and effectiveness of communications and materials • May lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years of Due Diligence experience producing detailed customer risk assessments • Successful completion of ACAMS certification • Industry knowledge or subject matter expertise with political exposed persons, non-US government exposures • Strong writing skills with an ability to effectively document financial crimes risk, mitigating factors and provide a risk determinations • Expert in conducting investigative research, root cause analysis and consulting on transactions, suspicious situations, policy violations, referrals, customers, and related parties that present moderate to high risk, or complexity • Expert in reviewing and analyzing findings to determine level of risk • Expert in applying knowledge and independent judgement in various risk management practices • Expert in preparing appropriate documentation and reporting to management • Expert in assisting with writing corrective action plans and assist in managing change to prevent and mitigate risk • Expert in applying knowledge and independent judgement in various risk management practices • Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet time frames • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work in a complex environments

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates. $111,100.00 - $197,500.00
