Key Responsibilities

Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met. Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes. Workstation Design - Designs operator work stations that are safe, healthy, and ergonomic while accounting for cost, quality, and delivery to contribute to an efficient work environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

Capex Budget Planning & Tracking

Develop, manage, and track annual and multi-year capital expenditure plans (AOP capex) for manufacturing equipment and infrastructure projects; monitor cash flow against planned vs. actual spend across quarters. •

Equipment Sourcing & RFQ Management

Prepare detailed RFQs for production equipment (e.g., VPI plants, HRD machines, presses, ovens, conveyors, winding machines, balancing machines); coordinate site visits for vendors; manage techno-commercial bid evaluations. •

Vendor Selection & Negotiation

Conduct techno-commercial comparisons across multiple vendors (L1/L2 analysis); negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, payment terms, and warranties; finalize vendor selection with procurement and leadership approval. •

Purchase Order Execution

Issue POs for equipment, utilities, and construction packages; manage advances, milestone payments, NFA (Non-Financial Approval) submissions, and contractor invoicing aligned to project progress. •

Equipment Delivery & Installation Oversight

Track equipment receipt against delivery schedules; coordinate dismantling (if refurbishing existing assets), transportation, installation, and commissioning activities; ensure adherence to DAP (Delivered at Place) timelines. •

Factory & Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)

Plan and execute FAT at vendor facilities and SAT at plant; document test results, snag lists, and ensure resolution of technical issues before handover to operations. •

Cash Flow & Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly/quarterly capex spend reports; reconcile invoices, track payment milestones, and report variances to finance and plant leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

Plant Layout Design & Optimization

Develop manufacturing facility layouts (including assembly lines, storage, utilities); collaborate with architects and civil consultants to finalize layouts in PREDCR format for MIDC submission. •

Civil Tender Management

Prepare BOQ, technical specifications, and tender documents for civil construction (building footings, PEB structures, flooring, plaster, painting, waterproofing); evaluate civil contractor bids and finalize L1 vendor. •

Building Expansion & Construction Supervision

Oversee new building construction, plant expansions (Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3), and infrastructure projects (dock, scrap yard, admin blocks); track progress against Gantt charts and milestone completion. •

Contractor Coordination & Billing

Manage civil, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and interior contractors; verify work completion, approve RA (Running Account) bills, process mobilization advances, and manage retention payments. •

Utility Installation Projects

Coordinate installation of plant utilities including transformers, DG sets, UPS, compressors, STP/ETP upgrades, hydrant systems, fire suppression, HVAC, earthing, IT infrastructure, and electrical cabling. •

Excavation, Grading & Site Preparation

Oversee site grading, excavation, foundation work, and legal clearances for land use; coordinate with legal teams on royalty approvals and excavation permits.

Primary Responsibilities

MIDC Building Plan Approval

Prepare and submit building plans to MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation); obtain approvals for plinth-level construction, building completion certificates, and occupancy certificates (OC). •

Fire NOC & Safety Clearances

Coordinate with fire consultants to obtain provisional Fire NOC, part-final Fire NOC, and final Fire NOC from Maharashtra Industrial Fire Department; ensure hydrant system installation and inspection readiness. •

Environmental & Pollution Clearances

CTE (Consent to Establish)

Apply for and obtain CTE from MPCB before commencing manufacturing operations. •

CTO (Consent to Operate)

Submit CTO applications post-equipment installation (varnishing ovens, chemical processes); track approval timelines (60-90 days); implement mitigation plans for delays. •

DISH Layout Approval

Obtain layout approval from Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) for industrial equipment placement, factory layout, and worker safety compliance. •

Electrical Load Enhancement Approvals

Coordinate with MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd.) for load enhancement applications, WCR (Work Completion Report) approvals, demand notes, fixed deposits, and transformer charging permissions. •

BOCW (Building and Other Construction Workers) Registration

Register construction projects under BOCW Act; ensure labor welfare cess payments and statutory contractor registrations are current. •

Safety Standards & Compliance Documentation

Ensure compliance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) protocols, and maintain MAITRI portal documentation for legal audits.

Primary Responsibilities

Vendor Identification & Capability Assessment

Identify and assess vendors for equipment supply, civil construction, electrical works, HVAC, interior fit-outs, and specialty services; conduct technical and financial due diligence. •

Techno-Commercial Evaluation

Prepare comparative techno-commercial matrices for initial offers, final offers, and revised bids; validate technical compliance, delivery schedules, warranty terms, and total cost of ownership. •

Contract Negotiation & Finalization

Negotiate pricing, payment terms (advances, milestones, retentions), scope changes, and penalty clauses; finalize contracts with legal, procurement, and finance sign-offs. •

Vendor Performance Management

Monitor vendor adherence to delivery timelines, quality standards, and safety compliance; escalate delays, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. •

Commercial Documentation & Payments

Process vendor invoices, verify work completion against milestones, approve RA certificates, manage advance adjustments, and ensure timely payment releases aligned to contract terms. •

Supplier Development & Relationship Management

Build long-term relationships with OEMs and contractors; facilitate supplier visits, audits, and capability showcases; maintain vendor databases and performance scorecards. •

Legal & HR Compliance for Contractors

Ensure contractors maintain valid licenses (architect, plumber, structural engineer), provide labor welfare documentation, safety PPE, and comply with site safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engg, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field • 12-15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, plant projects, or capex execution • Proven track record in managing multi-crore capex projects (₹10-50 Cr range) • Strong knowledge of Indian industrial regulations (MIDC, MPCB, Factory Act, BOCW) • Experience with equipment procurement (machining centers, assembly lines, utilities) • Familiarity with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project lifecycles
