The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy Stoney Creek is searching for a proactive and motivated intern to join our team for a 12-month term, extendable to a maximum of a 16-month term. The Production Assistant Intern position will provide the opportunity to work alongside many facets of the factory's operations team. Primarily working with the Shift Supervisors, Technical Advisor, and factory employees, the position will allow for the selected applicant to learn the intricacies of the large power transformer repair process.

How you'll make an impact
• Work with the Shift Supervisors to ensure the daily and weekly tasks are accomplished in the factory
• Work with the Technical Advisor to place orders for various hardware and other job-related components
• Offer support to the production planner when needed
• Identify holes in current factory processes leading to lapses in throughput, quality, health and safety, etc.
• Assist the Buyer with reaching out to vendors and creating purchase requisitions in SAP
Your background
• Third year completed of a bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field, with plans to return after the work term, or completed a four-year degree program in 2026
• Proficient with MS Excel and other MS Office software
• Ability to multi-task and perform in a high pace environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Understanding of lean management, quality, and continuous improvement
• Base knowledge of SAP is an asset
