POSITION SUMMARY
Sanofi’s Digital Manufacturing & Supply – Solution Engineering & Delivery team builds and operates digital solutions supporting manufacturing, quality, and operations across global industrial sites.
The IIoT ecosystem at Sanofi enables data flow from shopfloor systems to enterprise platforms, powering advanced analytics and AI use cases within a regulated GxP environment.
A skilled IIoT professional is sought to contribute across multiple layers of this end-to-end architecture:
Key Responsibilities
• Design and support
multi-region AWS infrastructure
ensuring high availability and scalability across distributed systems
• Enable
reliable data ingestion, processing, storage, and visualization
across the IIoT landscape
• Maintain
stability, performance, and resilience
of data pipelines
• Ensure
compliance, validation, and audit readiness
in line with GxP requirements, with strong focus on data traceability and integrity
This role is critical in ensuring business continuity for
mission-critical manufacturing systems
and sustaining a robust, compliant IIoT data ecosystem.
SiteWise data modeling & contextualization
• Design and manage
AWS SiteWise asset models, hierarchies, and data streams
for industrial equipment
• Define
standardized data models
to enable reusable and scalable deployments across sites.
• Ensure proper tag mapping and contextualization from edge systems (Ignition).
• Configure and manage
data ingestion pipelines into SiteWise
from Ignition.
Cloud Storage & Data Lifecycle Management

• Configure and optimize data exports from SiteWise to S3@@/HD@@
, ensuring structured, efficient, and reusable data organization (partitioning, formats, compression).
• Define and implement
data lifecycle policies
in S3, including retention, archival, and deletion strategies.
• Implement
secure storage practices
using encryption, access control (IAM), and audit logging mechanisms.
• Design and maintain
storage solutions for high availability and multi-region deployments
, including cross-region replication and disaster recovery strategies.
• Optimize storage for
performance and cost efficiency
, leveraging appropriate S3 storage classes and data access patterns.
• Monitor and troubleshoot
data storage pipelines
, addressing issues related to ingestion delays, missing data, or inconsistencies.
Grafana visualization & analytics
• Design, develop, and maintain
Grafana dashboards
for visualization of IIoT data from AWS SiteWise.
• Implement
standardized and
reusable
dashboard templates
to enable consistent visualization across sites and regions.
• Configure
role-based access control and secure data access.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to
Multi-Region AWS Infrastructure
• Design, implement, and manage
multi-region AWS infrastructure
to support high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery for global IIoT platforms.
• Architect and maintain
cross-region deployment strategies.
• Implement
data replication and synchronization mechanisms
across regions.
• Monitor and optimize
cross-region performance, latency, and cost.
• Ensure
security, compliance, and governance controls
are consistently applied.
Ignition Platform Configuration & Data Contextualization (Optional)
• Configure and manage
Ignition
(Inductive Automation) gateways and projects, including tag structures,
UDTs
(User Defined Types), and device connections.
• Design and implement standardized
data models
and
tag hierarchies
, enabling scalable and reusable configurations across sites.
• Perform data
contextualization
, mapping raw signals from PLC/SCADA systems into meaningful
asset models
and
business-relevant data structures.
• Troubleshoot issues related to
tag communication
,
data inconsistencies
,
gateway performance
, and
integration failures.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS@@/HD@@
Experience & knowledge
• 5+ years’ experience with
AWS SiteWise, Grafana, S3-based data integration
, and multi-region infrastructure
• Hands-on expertise in
SiteWise data modeling and ingestion pipeline configuration
• Ability to collaborate across
architecture, security, validation, and engineering teams
• Working knowledge of
Agile methodologies
• Experience in
regulated (GxP) environments
(Pharma, biotech, medical devices) is a plus
Technologies and Techniques
• Hands-on experience with
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
using Terraform, including: • Development of reusable modules
• Multi-environment and multi-region deployments
• Experience with
containerization and orchestration technologies
: • Docker for packaging and deployment
• Kubernetes (EKS) for scalable, resilient workloads and troubleshooting
• Strong experience with
AWS cloud services
, including: •
AWS SiteWise
for industrial data ingestion and modeling

Amazon S3 and storage services
for scalable data management
• Multi-region infrastructure for high availability and disaster recovery
• Experience with
data visualization and analytics tools

, for building scalable and reusable dashboards

industrial / IIoT systems
