This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1194000, within the FMS 8 of the New Jersey Army National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Areas of Consideration: CAT 3 All New Jersey Army National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, and Drill-Status Guardsmen) Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trial period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.
