Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is looking for a skilled Machinist Team Lead to support our growing machine shop team. In this role, you will help guide setup, operation, and optimization of advanced CNC equipment in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. You will support the production of highly engineered transformer components used in grid and electrification applications. You will also help team members work safely, meet production schedules, and improve daily performance. This is a great opportunity to build on your CNC experience while helping launch and support a state-of-the-art machine shop with automation, robotic integration, and next-generation machining technologies.

How you'll make an impact@@/HD@@
• Guide team members in the setup and operation of Mazak and DMG Mori multi-axis turn-mill centers and CNC lathes.
• Support robot-integrated turn-mill systems to improve productivity, consistency, and safe operation.
• Operate horizontal machining centers with pallet pool systems for efficient production flow.
• Complete tooling setup, offsets, fixture alignment, and related machine adjustments.
• Monitor machining performance and adjust processes to support quality, cycle time, and efficiency.
• Set clear expectations for safety, 5S, schedule compliance, output, and resource use.
• Coach team members on standard work, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement practices.
Your background
• 5 or more years of experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
• Experience with multi-axis turn-mill machining, turning centers, and horizontal machining centers.
• Experience using Mazak, Mazatrol, DMG Mori, CELOS, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
• Able to read blueprints and apply GD&T standards.
• Knowledge of G-code programming and machining fundamentals.
• Experience holding tolerances on precision components.
• Commitment to safety, quality, standard work, and continuous improvement.
• For internal applicants, you must have worked in your current department for at least 6 months and have been employed with Hitachi Energy for at least 1 year.
