The Opportunity

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing new products and maintaining existing portfolio for electro-mechanical relays. These relays are used by our customers throughout the globe. Join our team in Bangalore and be @@HD@@at the forefront of turning cutting-edge ideas into robust, manufacturable designs. How you'll make an impact@@/HD@@ • Design and develop mechanical components for electro-mechanical relays, ensuring high performance and reliability • Apply industry best practices like Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Tolerance Stack-up analysis to optimize product robustness and manufacturability • Generate engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOM), to support manufacturing process • Execute validation and verification activities to qualify the developed components • Work closely with Vendors and Quality teams, including for mold development • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, fostering innovation throughout the product lifecycle. • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. • Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background

• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline • 4-8 years of experience in manufacturing-focused research and development • Strong expertise in 3D modelling and drafting using tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD • In-depth knowledge of sheet metals and plastics, including material selection • Familiarity with fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes • Hands-on experience with prototyping and mechanical testing (e.g., Vibration and Thermal cycling) • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required Apply now Current employees apply here
