This role sits within the front office and will be working in a dynamic and busy trading floor environment. You will be responsible for
trading HKD rates products
, managing risk, and providing liquidity to corporate and institutional clients. The role involves market making across your product set, as well as close collaboration with Sales to deliver client solutions and drive revenue generation.
You will manage risk, liquidity, and exposure across the rates book, while supporting all aspects of the trading desk, including pre-trade analysis, strategy development, and execution. Monitoring supply and demand dynamics, you will continuously evaluate market developments to provide accurate pricing and insights to internal stakeholders and clients.

to support and grow the FICC Rates Trading franchise in Asia (Singapore / Hong Kong).
• Trade and market make
HKD interest rate products
, delivering liquidity and generating trading revenues.
• Manage risk across the trading book, including positioning, hedging, and exposure management in line with market conditions.
• Partner closely with Sales to
develop client relationships, deliver trade ideas, and execute client flows
.
• Contribute to building and expanding the
local markets franchise
, growing market share and strengthening client engagement.
• Leverage technology and analytics to enhance
pricing, hedging strategies, and trade execution
.
• Develop a deep understanding of
macro drivers, rates market dynamics, and cross-asset implications
, particularly within Hong Kong and USD-linked markets.
• Monitor market developments, liquidity conditions, and client flows to anticipate trends and identify trading opportunities.
• Maintain strong collaboration with global trading teams to ensure
alignment of positioning, risk, and market views
.
• Exhibit sound judgment under pressure and maintain discipline across varying market environments.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Asia Rates Trading, Hong Kong Treasury or HKD FX.
• Strong knowledge of
interest rate products
, including swaps, forwards, government bonds, and related derivatives.
• Proven ability to
manage risk, price markets, and execute trades
in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Solid understanding of
HKD market structure
, liquidity dynamics, and linkage to global rates (e.g., USD rates environment).
• Strong analytical and technical skill set combined with sound trading instinct and judgment.
• Ability to articulate views on
market trends, macro drivers, and relative value opportunities
.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Structuring, and global trading teams.
• Ability to perform under pressure and make informed decisions in volatile market conditions.
