Responsibilities
The Government Relations and Public Policy team covers a wide range of responsibilities: government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships. The mission of the team is to earn trust and prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok.
We are looking for a passionate, ambitious and strategic public policy leader to lead our Southern Europe team:
- Continue to build and further advance strong engagement and relationships with local governments, NGOs, academia, think tanks and other key stakeholders/or partners across the region to support the growth of TikTok.
- Help TikTok think and act locally: provide guidance to internal teams to help TikTok put users first; advise on public policy matters emerging in the market to ensure strategic and actionable plans are in line with respective governments' regulations and policy frameworks, putting TikTok's users first;
- Shape public policy discussions on key issues affecting the tech industry, advocating for policies that support innovation, competition, and responsible technology use;
- Lead the development and growth of the public policy team, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting individual team members' professional development;
- Work cross-functionally with legal, brand, communications, and product teams to ensure alignment between policy goals and business objectives;

Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience managing public policy and / or government relations and advocacy work, preferably in the tech industry
- Strong understanding of the political system, environment and institutions, as well as cultural landscape, across the region
- Established network with policy makers and opinion leaders across the region
- Very strong understanding of public policy issues around child safety, privacy, and other tech policy issues
- A good and experienced people manager, capable of developing and growing a talented team
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with cross functional teams.
