The Staff Accountant will be responsible for recording general and administrative expenses, accruals, retail transactions, cash journal entries and performing related account reconciliations and variance analysis. This individual will also assist on ad hoc projects as they arise, assisting with quarterly reviews, year-end audit requests, and monthly P&L reviews. The candidate will be able to develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relationships with all levels in the Company and cross-functional departments such as Accounts Payable, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Retail. Qualified candidates will bring a strong knowledge of GAAP, willingness to learn, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This position will report directly to the Manager of Accounting at the Company’s corporate office. Responsibilities • Assist with the month-end close process including recording retail transactions, club & corporate expenses, and accruals to the general ledger. • Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reconciliation of various GL accounts and prepare budget vs actuals analysis. • Prepare bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations • Assist with various schedules, memos, and supporting documentation for the external audit • Able to work and partner effectively with other departments, such as Accounts Payable, Retail, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Tax. • Work in partnership with and provide support for senior team members on other various financial and operating analyses and ad hoc projects • Will work directly with several CPAs, so will have opportunity to gain experience hours if a CPA candidate.
