About the role

We are hiring a Senior PCIe Firmware Engineer to join the Chip Design PCIe Firmware team, based in Beijing. You will be the team's first-line representative for our Chinese customers — keeping the highest standard of NVIDIA's quality, efficiently resolving customer issues, and implementing the features our customers need. You will work on the low-level C Firmware code layer for groundbreaking network adapters and the next generation of NVIDIA devices, backed by automation and testing environment.

What you'll be doing

• Customers support as the team's first-line representative — working alongside, or immediately behind, theApplication Engineering layer — reproduce, debug, root-cause, and resolve field issues on post-silicon(shipping) products, and provide timely, high-quality technical responses. • Turn customer feature requests into reality — design, implement, and verify firmware features for postsilicon products, in close coordination with the customer and the wider PCIe group. • Take part in the team's activities — feature implementation and verification, complex post-silicon debug,and release convergence toward official releases. • Collaborate across teams — PCIe firmware, software, architecture, and QA — as well as with local customer oriented application engineers. • Improve the automated process - Constantly improving our efficiency and integrity.

What we need to see

• B.Sc. or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering. • 5+ years of experience in firmware design and development. • Strong low-level C and embedded fundamentals. • Strong debugging skills — the ability to drive complex post-silicon / embedded issues to root cause. • Customer-facing communication — fluent Mandarin and professional English. • Problem solver, independent and curious. • Strong social skills and self-learning ability. • Strong multi-disciplinary capabilities and the ability to work with a wide interface of people — chip design, firmware, software, architecture, QA

Ways to stand out from the crowd

• Experience in a customer-facing engineering or support role, ideally with networking / data-center customers. • Knowledge in networking, Linux, and scripting languages (Python). • Familiarity with hardware verification concepts and tools (C++, Python, GIT, Jenkins automation, HW familiarity). • Experience in collaborating with software and architecture teams to define and implement firmware. • Experience with in-depth problem solving
