About the role
This position is part of the 149th Maintenance Squadron located in San Antonio, TX. . Its primary purpose is to accomplish the inspection, repair, modification, installation and troubleshooting of sheet metal, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb and other structural materials and components as well as treatment and painting of missiles, aircraft powered and non powered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and monitoring aircraft and equipment washing. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.
Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Areas of Consideration: Nationwide Excepted. This includes: All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite and temporary personnel of the Texas Air National Guard. All current members of the Texas Air National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Texas Air National Guard. Remarks: Two Page Resume limit This is a Bargaining Unit position. Veterans' preference is not applicable to this position. Texas Air National Guard Membership is required. Direct deposit is mandatory. Trial period required (see remarks) Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
