Regional Director, Pacific West

The Pacific West Region includes parks in California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, parts of Arizona and Montana, and the territories of Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The Regional Director oversees 65 parks spanning 13 million acres and manages park superintendents, including three Senior Executive Service Superintendents, deputy regional directors, associate regional directors, and full-time, seasonal employees, and volunteers in a variety of disciplines. U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain/maintain a background/suitability investigation/determination commensurate with the risk and sensitivity level of the position (Tier 5, critical sensitive). Newly appointed SES members must serve a 1-year probationary period. Public Financial Disclosure (OGE-278 filing within 30 days is required.) This position may require pre and post-employment drug screening. Selections are subject to Department approval. Initial appointments to the SES must undergo an ECQ based structured interview with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for SES certification.
