About the Role

Uber is looking for an experienced technical and business leader to drive the creation, scaling, and operations of our financial services across Latin America (LatAm). As one of four regional pillars reporting to the Global Head of Financial Business, this role oversees the build and business performance of our financial products in the region. You will own the LatAm P&L for financial services, driving adoption, growth, and financial contribution, while ensuring our products seamlessly support and enable Uber's mobility and delivery businesses. Critically, you will navigate the complex and highly regulated LatAm financial landscape, ensuring all products are compliant, localized for regional nuances, and built to thrive in a dynamic market. @@HD@@ What You'll Do @@/HD@@ •

Regional Strategy & Execution

Adapt and execute Uber's global financial product strategy using deep local market knowledge of the LatAm ecosystem. •

P&L Ownership

Oversee regional P&L performance, driving growth, user adoption, and profitability targets across key LatAm markets. •

Product Localization & Launch

Work alongside the global product organization and regional business leaders to design, launch, and operate features that drive growth within the LatAm financial services sector. •

Ecosystem Synergy

Partner closely with Uber's LatAm Mobility and Delivery leadership to provide the right level of internal \"service\" and ensure financial products add direct value to the core businesses. •

Strategic Partnerships

Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to design, negotiate, and implement vital local partnerships (e.g., local banks, payment gateways, and fintechs) required for regional success. •

Technical & Regulatory Leadership

Provide technical leadership in designing and operating financial products while navigating diverse and stringent regulatory frameworks across different LatAm countries. •

Stakeholder Alignment

Build strong relationships with Uber's senior leadership globally and regionally across Product, Engineering, BD, Policy, Tax, Regulatory, and Strategic Finance. •

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, distributed team across multiple LatAm countries, managing across different cultures, languages, and time zones.

What You'll Need

8+ years

of work experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or tech, with

5+ years

of leadership experience. •

Deep LatAm Expertise

Proven experience building and scaling financial solutions within Latin America's fast-paced, technology-savvy, and highly regulated environments. •

Technical Acumen

Technical expertise in the design, build, and operationalization of a financial product portfolio. •

Risk & Governance

Solid understanding and background in handling regional risk, compliance, and regulatory governance issues. •

Stakeholder Management

Experience managing relationships and communicating proactively with internal matrixed teams and external regional partners. •

Language Skills

English fluency is required; fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is highly preferred (or required, depending on your team's exact needs). • Impeccable judgment, integrity, and ability to set an ethical example. • MBA is a plus.
