About the role

Team Description You’ll join SumUp’s global Money Laundering Reporting Officer team, working with compliance, operations, data, product and senior leadership to strengthen financial crime controls in Brazil and other markets. It’s a complex, fast-moving environment where sound judgement, clear communication and strong ethical standards matter. We’re looking for an experienced and pragmatic Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer to support SumUp’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing programme in Brazil. You’ll focus on governance, quality assurance and data quality while helping ensure that regulatory risks, controls, reporting and escalation processes are clearly defined. What You’ll Do • Define quality assurance standards and review anti-money laundering control outputs • Assess the completeness, accuracy, consistency and reliability of financial crime data • Identify root causes of control and data-quality issues and track remediation through to completion • Manage anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing communication with the Central Bank of Brazil • Support market expansion by establishing financial crime risks, controls, reporting and escalation processes before and after launch You’ll Be Great for This Role If • You have at least seven years of experience in anti-money laundering, financial crime compliance, anti-money laundering governance, quality assurance or a similar regulated environment, ideally in fintech, payments or banking. • You have a strong understanding of anti-money laundering governance, control frameworks and quality assurance methods, with experience supporting or working closely with a Money Laundering Reporting Officer or Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer. • You can assess financial crime data and automated control environments, identify patterns and anomalies, analyse root causes, and manage remediation across teams or markets. • You exercise sound judgement in complex and high-pressure situations, communicate confidently in fluent English, and influence stakeholders across compliance, operations, data, product, senior leadership and regulatory bodies. Nice to have • You have experience developing artificial intelligence or machine-learning tools for financial crime controls.
