About the role
This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN), Position Description Number D2727000 and is part of the G6, Ohio Army National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support for Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all State/Territories activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning; analyzing and identifying problems and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs.
Ohio Army National Guard Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required within one year of the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Ohio Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Other Requirements: 1. The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 3. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 5. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 6. May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate, to perform temporary duty assignments. 7. Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
