Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the endorsements of air brake, tanker and trailer towing in excess of 10,000 lbs GVW, or a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to obtain Class A licensing and endorsements within 6 months of entry-on-duty. Must meet all CDL requirements such as the Department of Transportation physical exam, drug and alcohol testing requirements, and minimum age requirements. Pre-employment and random alcohol and drug testing are required. You will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive test is received. A physical examination will be required, or a statement regarding physical ability will need to be completed. You must maintain physical fitness standards throughout employment. Ability to handle objects weighing 40 to 75 pounds and occasionally as much as 100 pounds You must be at least 18 years of age or older to operate government vehicles. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.
