About the role

Job Purpose and Impact The Indirect Sourcing Senior Buying Specialist will be responsible for indirect procurement for Cargill's Animal Nutrition and Health (ANH) plants in India and Sri Lanka. Key Accountabilities • The role will include sourcing materials related to opex, commercial, marketing, HR, corporate material and services and small portions of chemicals used in the production site. • The role will interact with internal customers (plant, production, commercial) and external sourcing vendors. • Develop best value supplier - Sourcing, Developing and Onboarding. • Identify Cost Saving Strategies through negotiation and implementation. • Forecasting price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power; conducting cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. • Execute medium and highly complex sourcing events. • Drive the implementation of regional sourcing decisions. • Sharing market Insights with relevant stakeholders for taking strategic decisions. • Provide inputs to the regional category team for category strategy development and execution. • Provide comprehensive understanding of regional stakeholders and procurement landscape. • Monitor continuous regional supplier and stakeholder relationships. • Follow established procedures to select suppliers for procurement of noncontracted materials, goods, services and supplies. • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in engineering from National Institute of Technology. • Minimum of two years of related work experience. • Other minimum qualifications may apply. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • At least 4 years of experience in an indirect procurement role within the Fertilizer or FMCG or ANH or Agriculture sector. • Strong negotiation skills, experience in vendor management and cost saving techniques. • Build partnerships and collaborate with others to meet shared objectives. • Ability to make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory, information to effectively solve problems.
