About the role
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Situational Awareness (OSA). The primary purpose of the Senior Desk Officer (SDO) is to maintain institutional knowledge and train personnel on all required duties. The SDO may also serve as a Technical Standards Officer (TSO) for their team. In that role, the TSO has the authority to establish processes and procedures governing the team's or desk's duties and responsibilities.
