Lead Diving and Marine Safety Manager

The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in the Office of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (OSHEM) which provides policy, guidance, and assistance for the Smithsonian's safety, occupational health and wellness, fire protection, industrial hygiene, and environmental management programs. Selectee(s) must be able to: maintain Instructor Certification from an internationally recognized scuba certification agency. Applicants must attach a copy of current diving instructor certification credentials. Failure to attach diving instructor certification credentials will result in loss of consideration. maintain active scientific diver status, including meeting all diving/swimming, physical examination and training requirements. pass a pre-employment drug screening. pass a dive physical exam. operate small boats used in field operations. obtain and maintain a valid Passport. obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License. be on call after hours for urgent or emergency situations.
